Not one single sit-up was done*

Ashley Russell had been working out regularly at a local gym since her son was born 3 years ago. She came to me with a flat stomach, but lacked muscle tone and definition. After only 6 months of training, she now has a six pack and has increased her strength dramatically. We did minimal direct abdominal work, tweaked her diet a bit, and focused on the major compound movements. The following is a list of her best lifts in what I regard as the top four abdominal exercises:

Back Squat: 110lbs for reps

Deadlift: 177 for reps

Pull-Ups: 11 (gym record)

Strict Military Press: 45lbs x 10 reps
